Sometimes Monarch will get incorrect account-type information from banks, and the balance of your account (usually a loan) will appear inverted. You can adjust this in your edit account settings!
An account balance should not typically display as a negative value, unless a checking account is overdrawn or a credit card is overpaid. Even a loan should display without a "-" before the balance. But if your balance is incorrectly showing as negative, as in the screenshot below, you can fix it!
When you edit the account, you will see the option to "invert account balance" and beside this will be a preview of the new amount.
After this adjustment, the balance should display correctly:
This issue can recur after inverting a balance if the bank flips the balance again. If you need to fix historical balance information, you can upload your balance history to correct it.
