Account balances may be incorrect for various reasons. For example, investment accounts may show inflated balances when they display both unsettled cash and recently purchased investments—this number will remain high until the cash settles.
Similarly, when transferring large amounts between accounts, balances may appear inflated for a few days until the financial institutions clear the transactions.
You might also need to adjust balances if your financial institution hasn't synced properly for some time. The ability to manually edit an account balance can only be done on Monarch web.
On Monarch web:
- Navigate to the Accounts page.
- Click on the account that needs to be updated.
- Click "Edit" in the top right corner.
- Click "Edit balance history" and a box will pop up showing the balances for the past 90 days.
- Find the dates that need to be changed, and enter the new balance into that field.
- When you're done, click "Save changes" and the balance history will be updated.
