Troubleshooting Delayed Transactions

When you spend money, how quickly it appears in Monarch can depend on a few variables:

  • How quickly your bank processes the transaction and whether they send pending transactions
  • How fast the 3rd party data provider receives that information
  • How soon the 3rd party data provider sends that information to Monarch

Each financial institution is different, so transaction speed can vary. Monarch and data providers do not follow a set schedule for syncing new transactions. The last update time displayed on the connection status reflects the last time your financial institution sent us transactions. If it’s been more than 24 hours since the transaction cleared your bank but you still don’t see it in Monarch, you can try the steps below.

Troubleshooting steps

  • First, verify that your account is still connected and that the credentials don't need to be updated.
  • Next, verify that the transaction is showing on your bank's website or mobile app.
  • Allow at least 24 hours for transactions to sync from the financial institution.
  • If the transactions don’t show up within 24 hours, you can force a refresh.
  • If the transactions are still missing, please send in a support ticket.
    • You must include:
      • The name of the account with missing transaction(s).
      • Information for the transaction(s) including:
        • Merchant
        • Date or date range
        • Dollar amount
      • Note: if there are multiple missing transactions, we just need 1-2 examples.

If a transaction is missing, you can also add it manually following these steps.
