The CommandK search bar is a powerful tool on Monarch's web app that helps you navigate quickly and efficiently. Whether you're searching for specific categories, merchants, accounts, goals, or reports, CommandK simplifies your experience. It's also equipped with global keyboard shortcuts, context-aware actions, and the ability to help generate reports, enabling you to access everything you need in just a few keystrokes.

Using CommandK

To access the CommandK search bar, simply press Command + K or Ctrl + K (on macOS) or Ctrl + K (on PC) anywhere in the web app. Once the search bar is open, you can:

  • Search for Categories, Merchants, Accounts, Goals, and Saved Reports
    • The CommandK search bar allows you to instantly search for categories, merchants, accounts, goals, and saved reports. Just type in what you're looking for and jump directly to the relevant section.
  • Navigate to Pages Across the Product
    • CommandK also helps you quickly navigate between pages across the web app. Whether you're looking for a particular section, feature, or page, CommandK provides fast access to everything without needing to dig through menus.
  • Access Keyboard Shortcuts
    • The search bar displays a full list of keyboard shortcuts that help you perform common actions quickly and navigate the app efficiently.
  • Toggle Settings On and Off
    • With the CommandK search bar, you can toggle settings like light mode/dark mode, or collapse/expand the side panel. This helps you customize the app’s appearance and layout to fit your preferences.
  • Use Context-Aware Options
    • Depending on where you are within the app, CommandK provides context-specific options that help you take immediate action. For example, when viewing a transaction, you might see options such as: “Mark as reviewed” or “Ask AI to explain this transaction.”

Can I use the CommandK search bar to search for specific transactions (e.g., by amount or date)?

  • Currently, the CommandK search bar can search for categories, merchants, accounts, goals, and saved reports, but it doesn't support searching for specific transactions based on amounts or dates.

Will the CommandK search bar remember my previous searches?

  • The CommandK search bar does not currently have a feature to remember previous searches. Once you close the app or refresh the page, the search history will reset.

Can I search for reports that I’ve already saved in CommandK?

  • Yes! You can search for saved reports using the CommandK search bar. Just type in the name of the report, and you’ll be taken directly to it.

Why don’t I see the CommandK option on the mobile app?

  • At this time, the CommandK feature is only available on the web app.
