Apple Card Syncing
Apple Cards differ from other accounts in how they sync information. Adding a new Apple Card account performs two syncs. The first sync creates your accounts in Monarch and imports four or fewer transactions. This is what happens before you see the success checkmark. The second is a historical sync for all the available transaction data. This is the only time a historical sync is triggered; future syncs will only gather transaction data from around the last two weeks.
Since Monarch only performs a historical sync once at creation, you must re-add your accounts if you want to modify your synced accounts, add transactions, or fix other issues. This will not create duplicate transactions.
To re-add your account:
-
-
- Check your system settings in Apple by navigating to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Wallet > Monarch. Ensure you are sharing the correct accounts and preferences with Monarch.
- Walk through our Add Account flow to re-add your account for the new settings to take effect.

iPhone 16 Update
We’ve noticed a lot of questions about Apple Card accounts related to the new iPhone 16 release. We know these manual steps aren’t ideal and are exploring ways to improve this process in the future.
Each Apple Card, Cash, and Savings account is linked to a specific iPhone, so we cannot continue syncing these accounts when you switch to a new device. You’ll need to add your accounts again and then transfer the data if needed. If you still have your old phone, open Monarch and make sure all Apple accounts are up to date.
-
- Open the Monarch app on your new iPhone.
- Open the Settings App > Privacy & Security > Wallet.
• If you restored your new phone from a backup, you should see Monarch listed here.
• If you set up your phone as new or don’t see Monarch listed, add your Apple accounts to Monarch. - Once you see Monarch listed under the Settings App > Privacy & Security > Wallet, tap Monarch under each account and select “Limited Time Period.”
• If you have your old iPhone and the transactions and balance is up to date, select “Starting Today”
• If you don’t have your old iPhone, choose the option closest to the date the account last synced with Monarch. - Open Monarch on your new iPhone and refresh your accounts.
- This should create your new accounts if they weren’t listed. If not, add your Apple accounts to Monarch.
- If you see that your transactions and balances aren’t complete, you can transfer the balance and/or account history to the new account using these steps.
